Enter 2020 - the coronavirus pandemic and quarantine.
“Home is no longer just a place to rest your head. Since the 2020 coronavirus outbreak began, our homes have transitioned into makeshift offices, gyms, classrooms, restaurants, cocktail bars, concert venues, movie theatres, and more. With so many activities happening under one roof every day, small studio apartments and large family homes alike have had to adapt to incorporate new functionality, and the way we look at these spaces is changing, too. Now more than ever we are finding the true meaning of our homes: a place where we want to feel comforted, safe, and inspired. There is so much unknown right now that we cannot control, but our homes are a space where we do have control over what we put in it, how we arrange it, and how it makes us feel." Born and raised in North Vancouver, British Columbia Canada, Donna Giraud has always been creative but never would have imagine that 41 years later, she would be living her dream and one of Vancouver’s most sought after abstract painters.

Born and raised in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Donna Giraud has always been creative but never would have imagined that 42 years later, she would be living her dream as one of Vancouver’s most sought after abstract painters.

Her first career was as a collegiate level soccer player where she earned silver and gold national medals before changing gears and becoming a nurse at St. Paul’s Hospital. This is where Donna realized her passion for healing and giving.
“I have always wanted to make a difference and nursing allowed me to help people in some of their darkest times. If I could just put a smile on someones face, I was happy.” - Donna
After 14 exhausting and exhilarating years of nursing, Donna felt the urge to make another change. Her already successful emerging artist career was in full swing but Donna knew she had to take a chance in order to take her art to the next level.
3 years ago, Donna took a giant leap of faith, gave up her nursing license and has since created a thriving and well known career as an abstract artist.
