MY VISION - A Journey to healing, reflection and wholeness
Where ART meets HEALING - How abstract art NURTURES the soul and inspires RENEWAL
For as long as I can remember, art has been more than just paint on canvas—it has been a place of refuge, reflection, and renewal. My journey as an artist has always been deeply intertwined with my own healing. After a life-changing car accident, I found myself on a 25-year path of physical, emotional, and mental recovery. Along the way, I discovered that resilience isn’t about pushing through at all costs—it’s about learning when to pause, when to rest, and when to allow ourselves the grace to heal.
Texture became my language. The ridges, cracks, and layers in my work are more than aesthetic choices; they are symbols of the healing process itself—imperfect, evolving, and deeply personal. Some days, the path feels smooth and effortless, like soft brushstrokes gliding across the canvas. Other days, it feels rough, uncertain, and cracked open, revealing the raw, vulnerable spaces within. But in every piece I create, there is always a sense of light—a quiet reminder that healing isn’t about erasing the past but embracing the beauty of what we’ve become.
My hope is that when you stand in front of my work, you don’t just see a painting—you feel something. Maybe it’s comfort, or release, or even just the gentle permission to slow down. Whatever it is, I invite you to find your own reflection in these textures, to see your own story in the movement of the paint, and to know that wherever you are on your journey, you are not alone.
A Moment to Pause: A Guided Breathwork Exercise
Take a moment to settle. Soften your gaze on the painting below or close your eyes. Let your shoulders drop, unclench your jaw, and feel the weight of the day melt away.
Inhale deeply through your nose—slow, steady, and full. Feel the breath expand your chest, filling the spaces within you. Hold it gently for a moment.
Exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing tension, worry, and the need to rush. Let go.
Again, inhale deeply, this time breathing in possibility, light, and ease. Feel the air nourish you, reminding you that rest is just as powerful as movement.
Exhale slowly, releasing what no longer serves you—doubt, stress, resistance. Imagine it dissolving into the air.
One last deep breath in—breathe in renewal, healing, and softness. Hold it gently, knowing that stillness is where clarity lives. Exhale slowly, completely. Let yourself settle into this moment, feeling lighter, clearer, and open to what’s next.
When you’re ready, gently blink your eyes open. Carry this breath, this presence, with you as you move forward.
