HELP

I think I struggle the most with this part of the process. I routinely succumb to my beliefs that people will judge me. I fear people’s laughs or that they will no longer look up to me because I may not, in fact, have it all together.

Rather than look stupid and incompetent, do you pretend like it’s all under control? Do you too, avoid telling others that you are struggling or feeling lost?

Perhaps you think asking for help is a sign of weakness; that if you ask for help you’re admitting you’re inadequate in some way.

We all know this is ridiculous, yet most of us do it.

There is, however, no better feeling than feeling heard and seen. Unfortunately, you can’t have that unless you reach out to others for help.

Despite being one of the hardest parts of the process, I think that enlisting others is paramount. The greatest thing about involving others with your thoughts, fears, questions and concerns is the power you receive when you finally realize that you are not alone and actually totally normal. When you are not alone and having meaningful conversations, you feel more compelled to take on that next task or take that next step. All of a sudden, the mountain doesn’t look quite as high.

We are not meant to do life alone. So I dare you. I dare you to use twenty seconds of insane courage to just bare your soul with someone that you trust.

You deserve meaningful conversations. You deserve to feel heard. Everyone deserves a little help.

  • There’s nothing like it in the whole world

  • It’ll make your other walls jealous

  • It can be shipped to you anywhere in the world (as long as you’re willing to pay for it)
