Growing up close to the water and playing in the trails of the mountains, Donna’s Giraud’s love for the Pacific Northwest clearly comes out in each of her paintings. She has the ability to capture the moodiness of the grey days and rolling clouds, but does it in a way that you feel uplifted and at peace.
Born and raised in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Donna Giraud has always been creative but never would have imagined that her love of the natural outdoors would be her driving inspiration to create works of art that can now be found all over the Pacific Northwest.
Her first career was as a collegiate level soccer player where she earned silver and gold national medals before changing gears and becoming a nurse at St. Paul’s Hospital. This is where Donna realized her passion for healing and giving.
“I have always wanted to make a difference and nursing allowed me to help people in some of their darkest times. If I could just put a smile on someones face, I was happy.” - Donna
After 14 exhausting and exhilarating years of nursing, Donna felt the urge to make another change. Her already successful emerging artist career was in full swing but Donna knew she had to take a chance in order to take her art to the next level.
3 years ago, Donna took a giant leap of faith, gave up her nursing license and has since created a thriving and well known career as an abstract artist.
“Over the last 10 years I realized I could still heal and help through my art. When I figured this out, I knew I had to dedicate my life to transforming people’s homes and hearts one piece of art at a time.” - Donna

Now, helping run the well known gallery in Yaletown called The Space, Donna and her recognizable style is becoming more noteworthy and has been featured in numerous magazines and news platforms such as Boulevard Magazine, Vancouver Home Magazine, Global TV News and CTV Morning Live to name a few.
