A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST

A lot of us think we are supposed to have it all figured out, that once we become an adult (whatever that means), we are somehow supposed to be these shining specimens of magnificence dancing through life with ease and understanding.

I want to have a stern talking to whomever decided this was the message we needed to strive for.

The truth is, life is messy. We are messy. But with that messiness comes growth and learning and slowly over time we do become more magnificent. Magnificent in our own unique ways that need to be shared with the world. 

Just like this piece, with all it’s layers, rough edges, and bumpy ridges, it’s messy. But, there is beauty in all the chaos. It took multiple days and a variety of revisions for this piece to present its final magnificent self, and like all of us, it finally did. 

It was a messy journey to complete this piece (both literally and figuratively) but it became the perfect metaphor that each of us will turn out magnificently, we just have to be patient and have faith.
